Access to electronic records eliminates obtaining the Attending Physician Statement (APS) conventionally, which can take days or even months. Underwriters get clients’ medical information almost immediately once they use the link and select their healthcare provider. Note that some healthcare providers don’t have fully digitized records, so a traditional APS may still need to be requested.
Applicants must have electronic access to their medical information to participate. Some restrictions apply where it may not be possible to use Human API. Records received are abbreviated and may not have enough information for an underwriting decision.
